My Future Classroom

This is what i see in my future classroom...

I believe priority on the LEARNING ENVIRONMENT should be given...it should be very conducive and non threatning as they are the main key in deciding and determining the pupils' attention during the lesson. With conducive environment they will feel comfortable to study as there are no distractors like smelly classroom, dirty as so on. I believe that greeny environment could lead to making the pupils' to be more focused and they will fresh. Since the school environment is quite noisy like i can hear what the next class is learning or singing. Sound proof classroom should be introduced to avoid cases like above. Therefore, there would not be any external disturbance and so, pupils will be able to pay attention in the classroom.

non-threatening environment means teacher should ensure that learning is less stressful for the pupils and more interesting. in this way, the pupils will feel that they would not be pressured while learning. If they are pressured, then their mind will be limited to fear of making mistakes and anxiety.

All the classrooms should have computers and internet as we are moving into the globalisation era. With this, it would indirectly enhance their ICT skills. Besides, there are many things that the pupils can do using these two tools. for example, in a click of mouse they can assess to any kind of information. For instance, online games related to mathematics. Smartboard too can be inserted in the lesson as some topics are very suitable to be taught using it. Moreover, the learning will be more interactive and there would be a two way communication between the teacher and students,

However, i would like to stress that it is not compulsory to use technology all the time. sometimes, the use of traditional teaching aids too can be interactive. for instance, flashcards, jigsaw puzzle, paragraph noodles and many others.

Therefore, in my future classroom there should be a conducive and non-threatning environment, equipped with computers, internet and sound proof classrooms. not forgetting the use of traditional methods wherever suitable.

yes, bhavarita. i agree with you that it is not necessarily to have a well-equipped technology appliances in future classroom.
everything depends on how teachers design and conduct the teaching and learning activities to ensure that the learning objectives can be achieved successfully.
besides, the approach or strategies that the teacher applies while conducting the lesson is fairly important.
plus, the teaching aids that the teacher uses in his or her teaching and learning activities are also crucial. it should suit pupils' level, interest, suitability and align with the objectives of the lesson.

Agreed with your post. Optimal learning through a balanced approach between traditional and modern technique is the way to go. But the deciding factor will always fall on the shoulders of teachers and pupils. Maybe in the next post you can explain how to instill qualities that turns pupils into good students. Can this qualities be taught in the first place?
